A private holding company
Toranomon Holdings LLC owns and governs a group of affiliated private companies. It holds the ownership interests, makes parent-level capital and governance decisions, and leaves the operating work to the companies themselves.
Its role
What Toranomon does
As the owner of its affiliated companies, Toranomon does what an owner does. It contributes capital, receives distributions, and approves major financing, acquisitions, dispositions, and structural changes. Where a company has managers, Toranomon appoints or oversees them.
At the parent level, the company keeps its own records, administers the written arrangements between the group’s companies, and works with legal, accounting, tax, and insurance advisers.
Everything else — products, services, customers, projects, staff, and regulatory obligations — belongs to the operating company that does the work. Toranomon is not the public vendor for anything the group sells.

Where the group works
The group’s companies work in a few areas. Toranomon does not publish a full list of them, ownership percentages, or financial details.
- Technology. Software, data, and technology-enabled services.
- Development and intellectual property. Real estate development and the ownership of intellectual property.
- Proprietary investment. Investment of the group’s own capital, for its own account.
